The Magic of Great Business Ideas

There are many people in this world who you can look to for business inspiration but one of my all-time favorites was Paul Newman.

Here’s a guy who took a simple idea (his salad dressing recipes) and turned it into one of the most successful philanthropic ventures we’ve ever seen.

Paul is a wonderful example of why I love great business ideas because he demonstrates that with a single idea you can have a massive impact on the world.

For him, it started by selling his popular recipes which grew into a wildly successful business.  The inspiring part of this story is how he then took that success and turned it into a well of contribution.

Recently while visiting Don’s Brain Blog I came across the YouTube video that was published on the NewmansOwn.com website as a tribute to Paul.

Watch the video and then ask yourself…

“How Can My Ideas Help More People?

Google Wants Your Ideas

This is exciting…

Google has announced a contest where they have set aside $10 million dollars to fund up to five ideas that can help change the world.

It’s called “Project 10 to the 100“.

It was first announced live on CNN and once you go to the Google website you’ll be able to read why they created this contest.

Here’s an excerpt…

Creative Imitation Only Gets You So Far

Recently I read a blog post about the concept of “Creative Imitation”.

Personally, I have mixed feelings regarding the way this is presented to small business owners.  On the outside, it sounds like all you have to do is model leaders in your industry and you’ll succeed.

I agree with this… initially.

But I think there is a MAJOR consideration that is left out.

Here was my response to this article…

Taking A Chance On Someone

In a minute I’m going to share how you can win a $497 gift but before I do, I want to share a story…

When I made the decision to go out on my own and start my own business, I did it starting from complete scratch. I had just graduated university, had a student loan and had zero contacts or experience within the industry I was looking to enter.

Sounds promising doesn’t it? :)

With all that said, one of the most frustrating experiences for me was having an enormous desire to learn but not having the money to invest in myself or my business.

I wanted to attend seminars, buy home study courses and receive coaching but the money just wasn’t there.

However, that didn’t mean I didn’t want to.  I would listen in on all the free teleseminars, download all the free reports and sign up to all the free email newsletters.

But I knew at some point that the only real way to get the “good stuff” was to pay for it.

So how do you get paid content for free when you don’t have any money?

I found a way and I want to share it with you :)

Here’s what happened and how you can do the same thing…

The Number One Idea Killer

If you are an entrepreneur, you probably live and die by all your ideas.

Personally, I love great ideas.

When I see unique and unusual business ideasкомпютри, my mind goes into overdrive and I immediately start thinking about all kinds of new possibilities.

Can you relate?

Well, a few years ago, one of my business mentors did something that dramatically changed my perspective regarding the true value of an idea.

His demonstration was so impactful that it completely altered the way I approach business.

Here’s what happened…

iYule and The iPod

iYuleHave you ever come across something and said to yourself, why didn’t someone think of that before?

That was my reaction when I saw iYule (www.iYule.tv).

As described on the website, iYule is a “30-minute Yule Log video for iPods, iPhone, Zunes and more!”.  Basically, it’s a video of a fireplace complete with soothing background music and the snap, crackle and pop of a real fireplace.

Here’s why I like this idea…
