Most Overlooked Business Tool

I see this all the time…

Business owners who get caught up with the latest and greatest tools, gadgets and software rarely ever maximize the tools already around them.

Now don’t get me wrong, I love new tools and gadgets.

But, let’s be honest – they can be a distraction… do you know what I mean?

So ask yourself this…

Plugins For A WordPress Membership Site

Selecting the right membership site software can be a daunting task – especially because not getting it right can result in an extremely frustrating experience (for you and your members).

That’s one of the reasons WordPress has quickly become a fan favorite for managing the content.

Using WordPress as the foundation of your site will give you a tremendous amount of flexibility and freedom because of the many plugins that are readily available.

These plugins allow you to control the “experience” your members have with your membership site and they also make it easier for you (the membership site owner) to manage the content, member’s info and much more.

So what WordPress plugins work best with a membership site?

Here is one that I highly recommend…

Edit Images Quickly

There are lots of tools and software applications for editing images and for years I’ve used Photoshop as my primary resource.  The only challenge with Photoshop is it can be difficult to understand – especially if you have never used a high end photo editing tool before.

That’s why when I recently came across a FREE photo editing tool online, I knew it was perfect for my wife as she has started publishing pictures to the web for her charity (www.WorldTeacherAid.org).

Here are some of the features…

How To Get High Quality Salesletter Graphics… Cheap!

Website GraphicsI get asked all the time…

Who does your website graphics?

Well there’s actually 3 answers to that.

For my business, I broke my graphic requirements into 3 different categories:

  1. Headers, Footers and Product Shots
  2. Graphics for Physical Products
  3. Salesletter Graphics

Each group are unique which is why I don’t have the same designer do everything. So let’s take a look at who actually does the designing for each group of graphics (I think you’ll be surprised when you get to category 3 – Salesletter Graphics).

Computer vs. Copywriter in A/B Split Testing Situation

Split Testing SoftwareThis headline got me thinking…

“CAN A COMPUTER BEAT A COPYWRITER? “Impossible!” Said One of the World’s Top Copywriters Until He Got His Butt Whipped By An Uncanny New Software Program Called “Glyphius!”

That was the headline for a new piece of software that came highly recommended to me from Michel Fortin (arguably the world’s best online copywriter).

So I decided to give it a try with a real world experiment.

Do My Stuff

DoMyStuffNowI’m always on the lookout for cool tools and resources and recently I found another one.

It’s called DoMyStuff and in a minute I’ll share a quick 4 minute “behind the scenes” video but first, let me give you a brief synopsis of what this is.

DoMyStuff is perfect for those of us who don’t have enough hours in a day and would love to offload some of the day-to-day “life” activities that get in the way of us growing our business.

I’m talking about things like grocery shopping, mowing the lawn, doing the laundry, cleaning the house and so many more (I’m sure you can think of a few to add to that list :) ).

Marketing Lesson From El Salvador

pics.jpgOver the holiday break I had a chance to do a lot of thinking… especially about this…

How fortunate we are to be able to make money using a simple Internet connection.

I just got back from El Salvador this past weekend where Amy and I were fortunate enough to help a couple orphanages and a small village in the mountains.

It was eye opening.

Before I tell you about the trip and the lesson I learned, I want to publicly say thank you to Jose Espana.

He helped us out tremendously during our time in El Salvador and I really enjoyed the brainstorming we did (which fits perfectly with the rest of this email).

Now here’s what really made me stop and think… Read the rest of this entry »

Growing Fast Through Viral Marketing

Russell_Forum.pngIt’s rare that a new product or service have massive success, in a very short period of time, without creating some kind of buzz in the marketplace.

Ironically, it’s this “buzz” that seems to increase the popularity of the product even further and it begins to take on a life of it’s own and very little marketing is needed.

It’s called Viral Marketing and that’s exactly… Read the rest of this entry »
