Email Yourself… in the Future!

FutureMe.pngIf you ever find yourself forgetting things and wish that you just had a friendly reminder once in a while then FutureMe will become a valuable asset to you.

It’s a simple reminder service where you can email yourself in the future.

You don’t have to register for anything and the service is completly free.

I like it because if I’m on the road and I don’t have access to my bookmarks or calendar then I can access FutureMe from any internet connection.

Here’s how I use it…

1) Let’s say I find a website I really like and want to save it in my bookmarks on my computer at home. I just send myself a “future reminder” to save the website. I include the website URL and a little blurb about what it does to refresh my memory.

2) What if you’re at a seminar and you meet someone who you’d like to work with on a future project. During your conversation you scribble some ideas on a napkin in the hope that your napkin will somehow make it all the way home in one shape.

Forget it.

With FutureMe, just email yourself the notes, ideas and new business plan!

Don’t forget to remind yourself of any birthdays or significant dates that you should remember about anyone else you may have met at the seminar.

3) Set yourself some goals and reflect on them when you recieve the reminder email.

Here’s what I mean…

Because you can send these emails to yourself W-A-A-Y in the future, it’s really neat to think about your goals for the next 6-12 months, and then send them to yourself.

Then, in 12 months when the email arrives it will either be time for celebration or a real kick in the pants to get yourself in gear.

I’m sure you can think of a number of other applications which is why it’s a neat little tool :)

Hey Stu,

That’s a good one, I have been using another one too; http://www.free-minder.com/
Once you register you don’t need to do the captua each time, and you can have it give you a reminder 1 week in advance or a few days as well as the day you pick.

It also does annual and monthly reminders.

Have fun,

Rick
