Great Marketing Ideas and Bruised Egos

Stu - Marketing IdeaHave you ever had your ego bruised?

I have and it happened recently.

Let me explain…

It was one of those late night brainstorms when I had an idea with enormous potential.

I couldn’t sit still.

My eyes widened as I immediately started mapping out all the possibilities.

I even registered the domain names and started to get everything set up.

Here’s the problem…

Fast forward 2 years and the reality kicked in after a conversation with one of my best friends in the marketing community.

As he started to tell me about a new idea he was about to roll out and I could feel the awkward smile on my face as he started to tell me all the details.

Can you guess why?

Yup, it was similar to the idea that I didn’t complete 2 years ago.

You see, there’s one thing you should know about the person I was talking to…he takes MASSIVE action.

If he has an idea, he puts everything he has into making it happen.

Even though I had never discussed this idea with anyone, it’s inevitable that people sometimes think alike and similar ideas are produced.

So part of me was thrilled because I knew the value of what he was putting together…

However, part of me was a little disappointed for not pursuing the idea further myself back when it first came to me.

Did my ego take a hit?

Absolutely.

But, I will tell you this…

My original concept was tiny compared to the size and magnitude of what he’s put together.

For example…

I never imagined being able to convince over 40 of the world’s top marketers to teach hundreds of hours of top notch marketing material and it not cost you a dime!

Zero.

Nadda.

Absolutely nothing.

I was amazed because he’s gathered the who’s who of the marketing world including Dan Kennedy, Joe Sugarman, Mark Joyner, Armand Morin, Yanik Silver, Rich Schefren, Alex Mandossian, Stone Evans, Mike Filsaime, Robert Allen, Michel Fortin, Stephen Pierce and so many more (including myself).

Then, to top it off, he’s managed to get the technology together to broadcast these training sessions live so you can actually see each expert’s computer.

That means they teach the material by actually showing you examples of what they are talking about.

It’s very powerful.

Anyway there are two lessons in this story:

1) If you have an idea worth pursuing then make sure you do everything you can to complete the idea as quickly as possible.

An idea by itself has no value.

It only gains value when it’s implemented and put into action.

Remember, if you don’t do it, someone else probably will.

2) Make sure you register for this high level training series right away (you won’t want to miss any more of the sessions).

You can register here

It’s arguably the biggest collection of marketing minds and the whole thing won’t cost you anything to participate.

Personally, I’ll be tuning in for one of the sessions this week and then there are 2 next week that have grabbed my attention.

As soon as you register you’ll get the whole schedule. That way you can see exactly who’s speaking when so you can pencil in the dates on your calendar.

Enjoy!
