Using Marketing To Make A Difference
Has your life ever been changed by one speech?
When I mean “changed”, I’m referring to your actions afterwards.
Did you do things differently because of what you heard?
SIDEBAR: In a minute I’m going to share a powerful full-length video presentation I found from someone who had a MAJOR impact on my view of business.
Consuming information shared by others can be extremely powerful both professionally and personally.
I’m always amazed at how one idea can instantly impact the amount of traffic you get to your website, your conversions, sales or the relationships you build with your subscribers.
It happened to me this past weekend. Even though I was speaking at the Affiliate Marketing Conference I always try to sit in on as many of the presentations from other speakers as I can.
Simon Leung, Jim Cockrum, Mike Keonigs, Tim Knox, and Matthew Glanfield all shared fantastic information that I’m excited to put into play right away.
Upon reflection, I realized that I’ve been fortunate and privileged to be around, listen to, and see some phenomenal marketers, speakers and visionary leaders.
Another one of those people who had a BIG impact on me was President Bill Clinton.
Last year I had the honor to see and hear President Bill Clinton when he spoke at a seminar I was participating in. His presentation was extremely powerful to me because it changed my view on the impact we could have in this world as private citizens.
That’s why I wasn’t surprised when I saw that President Clinton had just won an award for all his efforts. You can watch the full acceptance speech on video below:

What struck me about this presentation (similar to the one I heard live a year ago) was it opened my eyes to the fact that we can have an impact on the world no matter who we are and what situation we are in.
In fact, President Clinton’s speech was actually the catalyst for our marketing fund raiser we did earlier this year for the 2007 Online Secrets call.
At the end of the day, running an online business can be a wonderful adventure because of the profits that are possible, the freedom it can provide, but also in the way that you can channel the money towards causes of your choice.
There are a number of groups Amy and I support each year but the greatest satisfaction we ever received came when we created our own cause with our trip to El Salvador. I want to encourage you to listen to President Clinton’s video and start thinking about how you could find your own little area of the world in which you can make a major difference.
There’s no better time to start than now!
Feel free to share your comments on any other speakers or presentations that had an impact on you.

Hi Stu
I suggested my partner listen to the Clinton speech you shared with us.
She is going for an interview tomorrow for a job as a principal of a brand new school they are building in one of the deprived areas of London. It’s a really big job and in the teaching world one of the top jobs in the country.
Anyway she found the speech really inspirational and she is going to use parts of it in her presentation tomorrow. I’ll let you know how she gets on.

Gavin,
That’s great to hear that the video provided some inspiration. Hopefully it will help during her interview
I know it inspired both Amy and I to reach higher levels with what we want to do so I’m glad it could be of value.
Be sure to let her know I said good luck.
Take care.
