Membership Site Software For WordPress

I tried for months to figure out how to create a membership site using WordPress.  The problem was, I could never find a solution that did everything I wanted it to do.

To make matters worse, when I did find something I thought would work, it was a technical nightmare to get configured and setup.

If you’ve ever found yourself in the same situation, I have good news :)

Now there is a solution that is easy to setup and was built specifically for WordPress.  You can see how I’m using it by watching the video below:

This looks like a real winner, Stu!

Marketers have needed something like this for a long time!

Yours may well become the standard!

Best of luck,

@Howard – Thanks so much for your kind words.

I will tell you this…

As a marketer, it is EXACTLY what we’ve needed. Honestly… I get all giddy when I think about it and the possibilities because no membership will ever be alike and there are so many possibilities with how you can use it.

Too much fun :)

Stu,

I didn’t even want to go to sleep last night anticipating your email which I knew whould have “the” solution.

I had the framework for my new membership site but was hesitant because I know first hand that whilst aMember is good, it’s also fiddly!

Stu Mc, You da man!!

@Trish – you’ll LOVE this. If you were already thinking about a membership site then this will make the process of getting it up a breeze.

Once you start playing with it I guarantee you’ll experience more happy dreams versus “technical” nightmares :)

Let me know if you have questions once you get started.

Take care.

Can we upgrade to the developer package if we purchase the single licence Stu?

@Trish – yes you can upgrade later but the 2-Part training bonus will only be included for the people who purchase the Multi-Site license.

Stu

The video is great… but it pales in comparison to the software you’re demonstrating. This is the full-fledged membership management system I have been dreaming of. I’ve purchased the professional, multi-site license and plan to move ALL my sites to this system. I currently have 13 sites controlled by aMember… so that’s saying a lot. Thanks for making this available!

(And as an aside, Instant Business Answers looks fabulous!)

Thanks Ray!

With all your feedback in the early stages I think we’ve really created a winner. Plus now that we added the “import/export” feature, switching over from other sites has never been easier :)

BTW – I appreciate what you said about IBA.

Hi Stu,

Great video [It could be a little bigger, or allow it to expand for us near-sighted people].

What we can see from the outside it looks great. Going to check out the rest of the videos now.

Thanks for the great tip and insider look.

@Pat & Lorna – Good point about the video. Initially I was just trying to get it to fit within my blog layout but I could provide a link to a bigger version.

I’ll see if I can do that over the next few days.

Hey Stu,

I’ve been researching WP membership plugins and Ray told me about what you put together. Then I saw your email about wishlistmember.com.

It looks like you’ve put some great features and functionality in place that I haven’t seen available with other WP plugins.

Nice job!!

@Jon – I appreciate your comments. You’ll really dig how we’ve built this because we tried to incorporate all the features someone running a membership site would like to have.

Plus since it’s built on WordPress, you’ll be able to enjoy all the flexibility WordPress normally provides :)

Hey Stu!

This is a surprise out of the blue – getting ready to launch my first Membership site here on the very near horizon and researched ALL the solutions out there and it appeared MemberGate and Memberstar were the finalists.

Amember was never in consideration mainly because, as you mentioned, WAY too technical for most folks – including me. Surprised at how many gurus recommend this so casually when it’s really not a solid solution for many ‘over-busy, plenty on their plate already’ business owners.

MemberGate: massively expensive and a huge commitment but well-established and great support – so Memberstar looked good ‘n easy and well established and looked like my ‘go-to’.

Now, you come along and mess me up good. ;-P (thanks, seriously!)

I’ll be getting in under the hood here soon w/ your videos(smart move, btw giving access to it on your sales page)!

Question: Billing – I am already set up w/ Authorize.net – do you have full integration w/ other mainstream CC processors?

What about control of the Icons for the content – can you change the look and, also, display *what* they are underneath them? (it looked a little confusing in your video w/ your site – as each icon did not really say what it was leading to.)

Congrats on the launch – will be in touch!

@Bruce – Sorry to “mess you up” regarding your membership software selection but I think you’ll be happy I did :)

Regarding billing – WL Member works with any shoppingcart/processor as long as you can send the people who purchased to a URL after the order has gone through.

Icons – You can have your membership site look any way you want because it’s based on your WordPress theme. The example I showed in the video was my personal membership site (it doesn’t come with WL Member).

So that’s what is so great about WL Member is that your membership site can look unique to you based on how you set it up and what WordPress Theme you have created or use.

Good luck with your decision – hopefully I gave you a little nudge towards WishList Member :)

Hi Stu,

I was wondering if this plugin works with aWeber.

What I would like to do is have the person sign up using an aWeber form (so I can get them in the email list) and then have that info automatically listed in the members “info” part of the plugin.

Is this possible or does it require some superhuman scripting that only Bill Gates can do?

aWeber won’t allow you to take info from another source and input it into their forms, so if you want to have the email list, you have to go through their form first.

I have been looking for a membership solution that plays well with aWeber but no luck so far.

A fellow Canadian,
Dean

Dean,

You can easily get people onto your aWeber list automatically using awber’s “Email Parser”.

In fact, if Stu contacted aWeber he can easily get them to create the necessary parser that is designed just for WLMember.

Also, for Stu, if you are not familiar with this capability with aweber and how to get it work for your script, just send me an email and I will help you out.

Good luck!

Mike

Hey, Stu…

This looks amazing. BUT I need to see some sites purchasing this software. I am a relationship coach and would LOVE to create a dating/ match making membership site of some sort.

Any thoughts on this one?

Thanks!

Looks sweet Stu.

What are plans for taking over aMember? :)

Are you looking to add things like discussion board control, etc. ? Lots of membership sites need ‘em.

I’ll be grabbing the multiple license, keep up the great work.

@Troy – we will be adding more features as time goes on (we’ve already added a bunch since we launched).

We probably won’t build a forum or discussion board into WL Member but we’ll configure WL Member to work with solutions that are already available for WordPress (like the one at http://www.bbpress.org).

Stay tuned… it’s going to be fun :)

Stu,

Sorry I wasn’t clear enough. Yeah there are so many discussion board options already. I did mean your software connecting to a (member based) discussion board. (Why re-ivent the wheel, right?)

Thanks,
Troy

Hiya Stu,

Went for the multiple site license deal after amember botched some tech support requests, but I don’t see any way at all to configure PayPal in WPWishlist Memer. The only payment system that seems available is 1SC. You clearly advertise that people can use PayPal, Google Shopping Cart, any merchant, etc., but I don’t see any videos on the most critical aspect of starting a membership site quickly…and that would be configuring and collecting payments!

Hope to hear from you soon, and I have a couple support tickets in, b/c I’m behind schedule on my launch due the the amember glitches.

Best,
Dainis

I’m with you, Dainis. I’d like some help on how to set up a Paypal shopping cart to work with WP Wishlist. The videos on the WP Wishlist site are great, easy to understand, etc but is missing the piece about how to integrate it with other shopping carts besides 1ShoppingCart and QuickPayPro. Please help!!!!!

Hi Paige,

I set up a year-long initial offer, paid via paypal, that then takes the purchaser to a login page.

That is set up here:
WL Member » Manage Membership Levels

Sounds like PayPal integration will be ready soon, so I can’t wait. It will allow me to create better offers. But, for now, I do have a functional offer and my 1st member.

Best,
Dainis

Dainis,

Where did you get the info (idea) that PayPal integration will be ready anytime soon? I didn’t see a reply here and have been following this thread.

I’d appreciate if you (or Stu) would share details, as this is what I am interested in too.

Thanks,
Troy

Hi Stu,

I agree that we need some further info on Paypal integration. Are we to simply send folks to the account setup page for their membership level? That doesn’t see too secure. Also, how about integration that handles things when someone closes their account?

This information will help to really round out and make WPWishlist the go to tool.

Many thanks,

Sam

Love this plugin, but what we need and I’ve been asked this question a lot too:

“are there any examples of sites we can see that is using wishlist?”

So important.

Let me help there. I just picked up the multi-member package but my first site is two months off for launch(I o wn a online record store and label – not in the IM world) but a very good friend, also in the same town I live in, is getting ready to launch his but the site is live. He bought a WP template, WLM and a whole lotta sweat and off he goes in a few days! http://cbiclubhouse.com/

Please don’t email him right now, though, with questions as he’s right in the middle of prepping for the launch…..but this should help you.
