Why Market Info Products?

money.jpgThere’s no doubt that creating and marketing information products can be extremely profitable but I was reminded recently of a major secondary benefit.

Interestingly enough, it has nothing to do with making money.

It has nothing to do with building a bigger list.

It also has nothing to do with getting more traffic or increasing conversions.

However, this benefit is so powerful that it naturally turns prospects into customers and customers into life-long evangelists who are eager to buy from you again and again.

You ready for this?

It’s going to sound very simple but I assure you it works and I’ll even prove it to you.

When you create an information product, the number one thing you want to do is…

Develop The Product To Help The Customer
Achieve Results As Quickly As Possible

(even if they are small wins)

For example, if you’re selling a product on how to make more money in affiliate marketing then you want your product to help people make their first dollar in affiliate marketing as quickly as possible.

If you’re selling a product to help people lose weight, then your product needs to help people lose that first pound as quickly as possible.

The faster someone achieves even the smallest win, the more confidence they gain in the material. That helps to reduce refunds and it also ensures that they are more likely to actually implement the rest of the material (which is a HUGE step for most people who buy information products).

So how do you do this?

Well, I was taught early on by Alex Mandossian to never be afraid of giving top notch content away for free in order to demonstrate the value of what you can provide.

The reason is simple…

You want the conversation in their head to be “WOW, if I he/she is giving away this much for free, I couldn’t imagine how valuable the paid content will be”.

It naturally leads to a future sale rather than “hardcore pitching” them on your product.

Also, it helps the customer build momentum.

Momentum is a powerful thing and the more momentum they build the more success they’re likely to have. That’s a good thing… especially if it’s attributed back to their initial start with your material.

This morning I received a wonderful email which reminded me of this concept.

It was sent following a teleseminar I conducted as part of my training series for the upcoming Idea Incubator seminar.

Here is what is said:

“Dear Stu,

Thank you. Thank you for the quality of the information, indeed. But, mostly I would like to thank you for the WAY you presented things and the character you exhibited during the teleseminar on Tuesday night.

We invited our 17 yr old daughter to listen in, as we want to encourage her to become an entrepreneur, rather than seeing the way to success being through the “normal” school, school and more school, then find a “good job”
method.

She was greatly encouraged by all that you taught, however, she was more impressed by the character you demonstrated as you dealt with all the questions at the end. I am most grateful that you offer my daughter such a fine example. Thank you. What you taught her in the way you handled yourself and the guests who were asking the questions did more to teach her of the standards we expect of her when dealing with clients than anything you could have said.

Furthermore, this is not the first teleseminar she has participated in.
(Although this is the first time, with you.) The way you present information - your ability to communicate clearly and eloquently is also a very powerful “educator” for my daughter. For that, I thank you as well.

Thank you again for serving our family in this way ~ Dawn Clark PS Oh, and Happy Belated Birthday : )”

That’s what it’s all about folks.

Selling people with high quality content is the best way to make a sale. It demonstrates to them the value you can bring to the table and it makes the selling process that much easier.

Today, another example of this principle hit my inbox. This one was from Rich Schefren.

You can see it here: www.NewBusinessVideo.com

In this video, Rich gives over 45 minutes of pure content and it serves as a great example that giving first is a wonderful way to draw people into your marketing funnel so that they “want to” learn more versus being “forced to” learn more.

The lesson here is simple: Look for opportunity to give high quality content as a way to demonstrate what you/your products are able to do for the people purchasing them.

If you’d like to see this in action then I encourage you to join us on our free teleseminar training series for the Idea Incubator seminar. You can start receiving your training here: www.IdeaSeminar.com
